Meet the Administrators

About Me

I am originally from Virginia Beach and graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in psychology (go Hoos!). I came to education through Teach for America, teaching special education in a high-needs charter school in Washington, DC while obtaining my M.Ed. in special education through George Mason University. I have also taught at a rural middle school in Greene County, Virginia, and at William Fleming here in Roanoke. I earned my degree in Administration and Supervision through U.Va. in the summer of 2015. Other than education, I love hiking, UVA sports (especially basketball), traveling, and spending time with my family.

Tommy Bishop

Welcome to Round Hill Elementary. It is a pleasure to come back to Roanoke City Public Schools and serve as one of the Assistant Principals at Round Hill. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Wesleyan College and a Master of Arts degree from Hollins University. I received my endorsement in Administration and Supervision in 2016 and am excited to explore the avenues of administration at Round Hill after 12 years of teaching and coaching which includes 2 years in Alternative Education, 3 years at James Breckinridge Middle School in Roanoke City, and 7 years at Read Mountain Middle School in Botetourt County. Prior to teaching, I spent 10 years in the military as a proud member of the United States Navy. I am committed to achieving excellence in the classroom and making sure the school provides a safe and secure learning environment.
