1.  What time does school start?

Car riders may arrive beginning at 7:25 a.m.  Round Hill's tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m.



2.  What time does school end?

Busses begin loading at 2:25 p.m.  Car riders begin dismissing after the last bus has loaded.
  


3.  How do I register my child?

Parents may register their children in the office from 7:15-3:00.Round Hill Elementary serves children in preschool through fifth grade.  Children entering kindergarten must be five years old by September 30.  If you need more information, please call the office at 853-2756.  We welcome you to our school family! 
What you need for registration: 

  • Children's birth certificate:  If you do not have a birth certificate, you may fill out an application for a birth certificate at the office. The cost of a birth certificate is $12.00.  If you are waiting for a birth certificate from the Department of Health, you may still come in to fill out registration forms.  When it arrives, you can bring it to the office so it can be recorded. A birth certificate or application affidavit is required before children can start school.  The school does not keep the original certificate. 
  • Proof of residence/address:  A mortgage statement, lease, or utility bill are proofs of residence .  A driver's license will be needed for identification.   
  • Current physical and shot record.  Students entering kindergarten MUST have a physical within one year of school entry.  A form is available in the office.  It is important to make your appointment as soon as possible to be ready for the start of school.


4.  Who is authorized to pick up my child at school?

Any person who is listed on your child's emergency card may pick up your child from school.  It is important to list all persons who may do this on your card to avoid delays in picking up your child.  If someone who is not listed will pick up your child, a written note must be submitted to the office.  Identification will be required.



5.  How can I find out about bus routes and schedules?

Bus routes and schedules are posted in the newspaper at the beginning of the school year.  If you have specific questions about bus schedules, please call Mountain Valley Transportation at 777-0101.
 
6.  Does my child have to be met at the bus stop?

All kindergarten children must be met by an adult at the bus stop.  Older children will be let off at their scheduled stop. 


7.  My child is going to a friend's house.  May he ride the school bus home with his friend?

A written note of permission must be sent to school prior to dismissal for a child to ride a different bus home.  The note should include other student's name and address. 


8.  What do I do if my child needs to go home a different way?

A written note must be provided stating how your child will go home.  This includes bus number changes as well as parent pick-up changes.


9.  Can my child be given medicine at school?

A physcian's order and a signed request from parents or legal guardians is required for medicine to be dispensed at school.  Students cannot bring medicine to school.  Parents must bring the medicine to the school nurse in a new, unopened bottle.   The school nurse or trained staff are the only persons authorized to dispense medication to your child.  Over the counter medicines such as cough drops, medicated skin cremes must also be brought to the nurse by a parent.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND MEDICATIONS IN YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK.
